Has Strange been changed for good?

Doctor Strange changed Spider-Man’s life forever following the events of No Way Home. According to actor Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Parker also had an effect on Stephen Strange.

Doctor Strange was a key player in the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, being the one to open the door to the multiverse in the MCU and, ultimately, erasing Peter Parker from everyone’s memories. The character certainly had an impact on Peter’s story. However, according to Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Strange was also changed by Peter, reorienting his ego for future films:

“One’s an adult and the other one’s yet to go to college. So there’s a very sort of paternal or avuncular thing that kicked in with Strange, which is very non-Strange territory to be in,” Cumberbatch revealed in the Spider-Man: No Way Home – The Art of the Movie book. “This guy is quite a self-involved egotist. Even if he is doing good for others, it’s on his own terms. So this kind of reorients him. We’re loving riffing off that…”

While Spider-Man: No Way Home being released before Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness certainly caused problems for both productions, it seems as though Peter Parker teed up Stephen Strange’s relationship with America Chavez in his solo film. Not that Doctor Strange would remember that, of course!

What’s next for Spider-Man?

What does the future hold for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker? The success of Spider-Man: No Way Home has opened up a world of possibilities for the fan-favorite Marvel character. The movie ends with Peter erasing himself from the memories of his loved ones in order to protect them from his enemies. This sets up an interesting dynamic for future Spider-Man movies, as Peter will have to navigate a world in which he is not known as Spider-Man.

Rumor has it that Tom Holland has signed on for multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances after Spider-Man: No Way Home. The future of the Spider-Man series is currently unclear, but it is likely that Marvel will continue to explore the multiverse concept that was introduced in No Way Home.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
