Billy Crudup is in talks to reprise his role as Henry Allen for Ezra Miller’s first cinematic solo outing as The Flash.

Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie is inching closer to a reality as the project is looking to begin filming early next year in the United Kingdom. The film has already caused some fireworks with the news of Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck returning as different versions of Batman. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Billy Crudup will also be reprising his DC Extended Universe role as Henry Allen.

The report goes on to say that this is more of a “rejoining” situation since Billy Crudup has been attached to The Flash film floating around the Warner Bros. lot since 2016, with the actor looking to sign a new deal this time around. Billy Crudup’s Henry Allen made a brief appearance in the theatrical cut of Justice League, where he is seen in jail for the murder of Barry Allen’s mother. Crudup recently collected an Emmy for his role on Apple’s The Morning Show.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on The Flash and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content.
