Michael Keaton is in talks to return as Batman for Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie.

Holy unbelievably good news Batman! According to TheWrap, Michael Keaton is in talks to reprise his role as the Dark Knight for Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie, nearly 30 years after he last wore the cape and cowl. Miller’s The Flash will be based on an alternate version of the Flashpoint storyline that saw Barry Allen travel back in time to prevent his mother’s death, but instead of teaming up with Thomas Wayne to get his powers back and fix the timeline, he’ll join forces with Michael Keaton’s Batman.

Ezra Miller’s first cinematic solo outing as The Flash will show us what Keaton’s Batman has been up to for the past 30 years as well as introduce global audiences to the concept of the DC Comics multiverse. Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman will not be affected and Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne is still viewed as the future of the franchise.

The Flash is currently looking to begin filming sometime during Q1 2021, but that could change due to concerns over the Covid-19 virus. Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will definitely be a delight for DC Comics fans. Miller was last seen as The Flash during The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event in which DC first toyed with the idea of the multiverse between film and television.

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
