‘Birds Of Prey’ Cast Wants To Team Up With Batman & Green Arrow

Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rosie Perez are ready for the Birds of Prey to team up with other DC Comics characters, including Batman and Green Arrow.

The Birds of Prey team features characters that have ties to the larger DC Universe, so it isn’t too far-fetched to have them team up with the likes of Batman and Green Arrow. Black Canary is deeply rooted in Green Arrow mythos and Huntress and Renee Montoya have major ties to Batman. The Birds of Prey have even more members than the ones you see in the film and the cast seems ready to expand the team.

We got the chance to sit down and chat with Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Rosie Perez during today’s Birds of Prey junket and they revealed just who they’d want to join the team and team-up with in the future.

Jurnee Smollet-Bell: There’s so many that the Birds could team up with. Obviously Oracle/Barbara Gordon has to. There’s also so many. You can bring in Poison Ivy as a villain. You can have Lady Shiva. There’s a whole world. It’s a wealth of potential I think.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead: There’s a potential crossover with Batman and Catwoman.

Rosie Perez: Thats right.

Smollett-Bell: Green Arrow.

Rosie Perez: It can go on and on and on.

Here is the official synopsis for Birds of Prey:

“You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.”

Directed by Cathy Yan from a script penned by Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Ali Wong, Robert Catrini, and Michael Masini have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

Birds of Prey will be released in theaters on February 7, 2020. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the movie and the future of the DC Extended Universe.
