Boseman is just the latest Marvel actor to honor the memory and legacy of Stan Lee. Dozens of tributes from actors and actresses within the Marvel Cinematic Universe have poured in throughout the week.

Stan Lee was the co-creator of Boseman’s character, T’Challa AKA Black Panther. Lee created the character alongside artist Jack Kirby. Black Panther is notable in the history of comic books for being the first superhero of African descent in the mainstream comics industry.

Black Panther was released in theaters earlier this year and became a cultural phenomenon. While being released in the same year as Avengers: Infinity War, it ended up grossing more at the U.S. box office totals than Marvel’s hyped-up crossover.

Chadwick Boseman is set to reprise his role as Black Panther in the upcoming fourth Avengers film.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers 4 is expected to star Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Paul Rudd, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Avengers 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 3, 2019.
