Armie Hammer Apologizes For Criticizing Tributes To Marvel’s Stan Lee

On Monday, Stan Lee passed away at 95 and many fans paid tribute to the Marvel Comics legend by sharing photos they took with the famously fan-friendly icon. In response to these photos, The Longer Ranger and Cars 3 star Armie Hammer posted a Tweet in which he criticized fans for a making Stan Lee’s death about himself. Fans were understandably upset by his comments, including The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan,  and now Armie Hammer has released an apology for the criticism on his official Twitter account.

In 1961, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby launched Marvel as it is known today with The Fantastic Four and went on to create some of the most beloved heroes and villains in comic book history, including Spider-Man, X-Men, Iron Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, and The Avengers. Today, Lee’s Marvel characters are the subjects of some of the most successful and acclaimed comic books films, most of which feature cameo appearances by the legend himself.
