It’s now been three years since the tragic passing of critically acclaimed actor and Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman. His co-star Lupita Nyong’o has shared a touching tribute to Boseman honoring his life and memory.

Chadwick Boseman kept his ongoing battle with cancer private, confident that he would be able to return to acting for the Black Panther sequel, before sadly passing on August 28, 2020. The news came as a devastating shock to his family, friends, and fans across the world, and a somber reminder of how quickly life can take someone away. However, Lupita Nyong’o recently took to Instagram to remind everyone that, while Boseman may have passed on, he still lives in our hearts:

In the Black Panther sequel, T’Challa was survived by his sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) who took up the mantle to proect Wakanda, with the film’s ending revealing Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia secretly had a son with T’Challa before his passing. While Chadwick Boseman won’t literally have someone taking up his mantle, he will live on through the millions of fans he inspired to never give up on their dreams.

What did HH think of the Black Panther sequel?

In Heroic Hollywood’s review of the movie Ryden Scarnato wrote “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, with T’Challa’s death becoming permanent due to Boseman’s real-life passing and the story now following the world of Wakanda dealing with that grief. While the film is an ensemble, it ultimately rests on the shoulders of Letitia Wright’s Shuri and Angela Bassett’s Queen Ramonda.”

“When it comes to performances, everyone here is at the top of their game, and you can’t help but think that’s because of how intertwined the film is with real life. With Wright and Bassett serving as focal points, the two are the strongest of the bunch, with incredibly personal moments that are some of the most heartfelt we’ve ever seen in the MCU. Shuri’s larger role in the film, in particular, also works for those who might have reservations.”
