‘Black Panther’ Video Game Announced By New EA Studio Cliffhanger Games

Welcome to Wakanda!

Black Panther Video game Cliffhanger Games

Get ready to delve into the world of Wakanda! A brand new video game based on Black Panther is in the works at Cliffhanger Games, a new EA studio working in collaboration with Marvel Games.

Fans have been begging for a Black Panther video game ever since the character entered the mainstream with Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal of T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War. Those prayers seem to be answered in EA’s latest collaboration with Marvel Games from the brand new studio Cliffhanger Games, which is led by former Monolith Productions vice president Kevin Stephens.

“We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game,” Stephens eexplained. “Wakanda is a rich superhero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do. It’s an incredibly rare opportunity to build a new team around the values of diversity, collaboration and empowerment.”

There is currently no release date for the Black Panther video game, as both EA and Cliffhanger Games are still building the team for their newest studio. This is the second collaboration between EA and Marvel Games, the first of which being the Iron Man game announced late last year, with several more said to be in development. This game is also unrelated to the untitled Black Panther and Captain America game announced last year at D23, which is being developed by Skydance New Media.
