Avengers Endgame Scarlett Johansson Black Widow

The first look at Scarlett Johansson in the long-awaited Black Widow standalone film from Marvel Studios has been revealed.

With production on the film now underway in Norway, we finally have our first look at Scarlett Johansson’s next appearance in a Marvel Studios film following Avengers: Endgame, which — spoiler alert — featured the death of her character Natasha Romanoff. The Marvel film has established its production out of Sæbø, which local outlets believe the village is being used to double as Black Widow’s home of Russia.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see Scarlett Johansson in her very own Black Widow standalone film? Let us know in the comments below!

Cate Shortland (Lore) is directing the project centered on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most popular female character from a script written by Ned Benson and Jac Schaeffer. Schaeffer is best known for writing Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, and the 2009 sci-fi romance TiMER which she also directed.

In the comics, Natasha Romanoff was trained by the Winter Soldier himself, Bucky Barnes played by Sebastian Stan in the films. Plot details remain under wraps, however, the film is expected to feature events set prior to the Scarlett Johannson’s debut as Natasha Romanoff in Iron Man 2. Note the details above suggesting the film takes place between the events of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame with Scarlett Johansson training a new Black Widow to take up the mantle are just a theory.

In addition to Scarlett Johansson, the cast also includes Stranger Things star David Harbour, along with Florence Pugh, and O-T Fagbenle. Rachel Weisz has been reported to be circling what is being described as a “key role” in the project.

Scarlett Johansson can currently be seen as Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the plot synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:
