For many years now, the character of Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow has been one that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have adored, and have wondered why she does not yet have a standalone film centered around her. Not too long ago, it was announced the film was finally entering development, with director Cate Shortland stepping up to direct the picture. Ever since this little bit of information, not much was heard regarding the upcoming Black Widow film other than a set of character breakdowns that teased some of what to expect. But now, luckily, we finally have more details regarding the film’s crew.
The cinematographer behind this summer’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Rob Hardy, has reportedly joined the crew for the Marvel standalone. According to DiscussingFilm, Hardy will serve as the cinematographer for Black Widow.
In terms of the cast and crew behind this superhero film, we only have a couple of individuals confirmed to be on the project, with Scarlett Johansson set to reprise her role as the titular character. Also, it was reported earlier in the year that Maria Djurkovic had joined Black Widow as a production designer. Not much else is known regarding the film currently.
Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson. The script has been written by Jac Schaeffer who is best known for writing Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, and the 2009 sci-fi romance TiMER which she also directed.
Black Widow will be released in theatres with no current set release date.
