It seems fans are finally getting some good news about the upcoming Blade reboot. The film’s star Mahershala Ali teases the MCU project is making progress.

Blade has perhaps been one of the most troubled projects in the MCU. Losing both scripts and directors left and right, many fans feared this reboot of the Wesley Snipes classic was doomed to fail. However, there may finally be a reason to hope, with Mahershala Ali assuring fans the project will be back on track sooner rather than later:

“We’re working on it. That’s the best I could tell you. I’m really encouraged with the direction of the project. I think we’ll be back at it relatively soon.” Ali revealed in a recent Entertainment Weekly interview. “I’m sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who’s on board and who’s leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that. So that’s the extent of what I can tell you.”

While some of the reboot’s struggles have been exaggerated, with the film’s former writer confirming that claims Blade was a “fourth lead” to a narrative led by women was bogus, it’s clear the film has had some issues. Luckily, it seems Mahershala Ali is committed to bringing a quality project to the MCU, no matter how long it takes.
