Fans finally have an update on Booster Gold! David Jenkins reveals whether or not the DC Universe series has been officially cancelled.
Booster Gold is such an odd duck of a DC Universe project. The series has seemingly been stalled behind the scenes ever since it was announced. Many thought that the project was straight up cancelled until it was announced last July that Our Flag Means Death writer David Jenkins would pen a pilot for the series.
However, it’s been almost a year since that announcement. There’s no news on the pilot or a series order for Booster Gold. And when fans noticed that David Jenkins unfollowed James Gunn on Instagram, fears flared up again that the DC Universe’s most unlikely project had officially been cancelled by the powers that be.
The Booster Gold Series Gets An Update
Much like other recent DC Universe controversies, the writer themselves came out to set the record straight. In the first update fans have gotten since it was announced he would pen the pilot, David Jenkins confirms that the Booster Gold series is still on its way, though didn’t provide any details on when a future update would come.

It’s important to note that a series like Booster Gold is going to have much longer lead times than most other DC Universe projects. Even if David Jenkins’ pilot is perfect, he still needs to come up with a series outline, hire a writers room, catch them up to speed, and then create (at least) eight episodes of prestige TV. Even without inevitable rewrites, a year is a good amount of time to be working on a project this big with no update.
A Booster Gold series is currently in development for the DC Universe. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe!
