Box Office: ‘Aquaman’ Earns A Monstrous $135M During Its First Week In China

Ahead of its domestic release next week, DC Film’s Aquaman has already earned $135 million during its first week in China.

Aquaman is proving to be a juggernaut at the Chinese box office. Forbes reports the film has already earned $135.3 million in its first week. For context, the total gross for Captain America: Civil War in China was $180 million. This year’s Venom earned a total of $267 million while Avengers: Infinity War reached $359 million. Aquaman earned $24 million opening day in China which led to a record breaking $94 million opening weekend total. It seems Aquaman could be on his way to becoming the new king of the Chinese box office. The film opens stateside next week and is projected to open upwards to $65 million.

Aquaman will be released in theaters on December 21, 2018.
