Joker editor Jeff Groth revealed producer Bradley Cooper played a significant role in cutting the Joaquin Phoenix film together.

Earlier this week, Joker editor Jeff Groth was one of the many who received an Academy Award nomination for their work on the Joquin Phoenix film. Of course, Bradley Cooper is also poised to win an Oscar as a producer on Joker should the Joaquin Phoenix film win the Best Picture award.

During an interview with Collider, Jeff Groth revealed that Bradley Cooper also played a key role in the editing process for Joker. As Groth explained, Bradley Cooper was on hand to provide help editing the Joaquin Phoenix film a more than one occasion:

“Bradley Cooper definitely came in a couple of times. He was a producer on the movie, but he definitely watched the movie many times and sat with us. We could call him if we got stuck with something and be like, ‘Hey, can you come over and take a look at things?”

Groth added that Bradley Cooper has a keen eye for details, which proved to be helpful when editing Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker:

“He doesn’t miss a thing (laughs). He would watch stuff and he would pick out even some of the smallest things and what are some of the things that he can be picked out for us to address. He was definitely a huge help. I think he got a lot more experience in editing than most people would realize.”

Fans can find out if Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker and Bradley Cooper win Oscar gold when the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony airs on ABC on February 9, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. EST. Here is the official synopsis for Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker:

Director Todd Phillips “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fracturedsociety. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.

Directed by Todd Phillips from a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver, Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.

Joker is now playing in theaters!
