Fans finally know the villain in Man of Tomorrow! The latest report on the Superman sequel confirms that Brainiac is set to make his DC Universe debut.
There has been quite a lot of speculation about what villain will take the spotlight in Man of Tomorrow. Although, “speculation” is a bit of a loose term, given everyone is convinced that Brainiac will be the antagonist of the Superman sequel. The only thing separating speculation from discussion is simply that the news hasn’t been confirmed.
That all changed when The Wrap put out an exclusive report confirming that Brainiac will, indeed, be a key player in Man of Tomorrow. Details are sparse about exactly what role the villain will play in the upcoming sequel. However, given fans have been begging for years for Brainiac to make his silver screen debut, the specifics aren’t exactly important.
Who Is Playing Brainiac In Man Of Tomorrow?
Notably, the report didn’t mention any casting information for Brainiac. This either means that James Gunn hasn’t yet begun casting for the Superman sequel. Or, most likely, he already has an actor in mind to play the villain in Man of Tomorrow and won’t be putting out an open casting call like he did for Superman or Lex Luthor.
With Man of Tomorrow set to film early next year, it likely won’t be long until fans get official confirmation as to who will be playing Brainiac in the sequel. Knowing James Gunn, it’s possible that he simply Tweets out the name of an actor or waits until the project starts filming to reveal promotional photos of him alongside Superman.
Man of Tomorrow flies into theaters July 9th, 2027. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
