He began his Arrowverse career on Arrowย and was quickly spun off into his own series with other DCTV misfits. Brandon Routh starred inย Legends of Tomorrow since its inception,ย but as itย was revealed last monthย his time is winding down as Brandon Routh will now be exiting as a series regular. During San Diego Comic-Con it was announced that the Arrowverse star will reprise his super role asย Kingdom Come Superman in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earthsย crossover.

Brandon Routh is known for his run as the Man of Steel in Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns, so it makes sense that during his swan song heโ€™d get to return to that role. With Brandon Routh returning to his iconic Superman role as a version inspired by the comicย Kingdom Come, a cool new concept design has been imagined to show us what he might look like ahead of the official reveal.

Written by Mark Waid and Alex Ross,ย Kingdom Comeย was a four-issue series published under DCโ€™s Elseworlds imprint. Set in the year 2020,ย Kingdom Comeย follows an olderย Superman as he attempts to rein in a new generation of reckless vigilantes and inspire them to adopt the ideals of past superheroes.

Crisis on Infinite Earthsย has been teased since the very first episode of Grant Gustinโ€™sย The Flash, where a newspaper headline from the year 2024 revealed the Barry Allenโ€™s fate was to disappear during a โ€œcrisis.โ€ However, the fifth season finale ofย The Flashย accelerated this when the original newspaper headline changed the date of the event from 2024 to 2019. To add to this, the seventh season finale ofย Arrowย set up Oliver Queenโ€™s role in the next crossover by having him join the Monitor on a mission to warn other worlds of the crisis, as part of the arrangement Oliver made in order to save the lives of bothย The Flashย and Supergirl.

Crisis On Infinite Earthsย will span two quarters and consist ofย Arrow,ย The Flash,ย Supergirl,ย Legends of Tomorrow, andย Batwoman. The Arrowverse crossover will launch with three episodes in December before concluding with two additional episodes in January.
