‘Batgirl’ Set Photos Offer Best Look Yet At Brendan Fraser’s Firefly

Brendan Fraser returns!

Brendan Fraser Firefly Batgirl Leslie Grace HBO Max

Brand new set photos taken from the Glasgow set of Batgirl offer the best look yet at Brendan Fraser’s Firefly.

While most fans are frothing at the idea of Leslie Grace’s suited-up heroine teaming up with Michael Keaton’s Batman, some of us can’t wait to see Batgirl for Brendan Fraser’s return. Fraser absolutely dominated the 90s and early 2000s with his action-comedy hits like The Mummy trilogy and family-friendly fare like George of the Jungle and Journey to the Center of the Earth. The star’s presence wained as the new decade came, but Fraser is set to make his major cinematic comeback as the villain Firefly.

Details are slim on Brendan Fraser’s take on the villain but one thing is for sure: he looks downright menacing. A set video from earlier this week showed the Firefly actor walking out of a burning pharmacy, no doubt set ablaze by the man himself. Now, new set photos from the Glasgow production of Batgirl, which have been obtained by Glasgow Live, give us our best look yet at the character filming the smooth exit from the pharmacy.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing Batgirl, which is being planned as a movie for the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max. The two most recently directed the 2020 box office hit Bad Boys for Life and episodes of the upcoming Disney Plus series Ms. Marvel. Christina Hodson, the screenwriter behind Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the script.

DC’s Batgirl movie is set to follow the Barbara Gordon iteration of the Gotham City heroine. Barbara was last seen in a live-action feature film in Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin, with Alicia Silverstone playing the iconic DC Comics character. J.K. Simmons also stars as Commissioner Gordon, Brendan Fraser appearing as the villain Firefly, and Michael Keaton as Batman.

Batgirl will hit HBO Max this year. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on Brendan Fraser’s Firefly in Batgirl, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
