Is Captain Marvel cut from Avengers: Doomsday? Brie Larson gives her first comments on a potential return as the iconic superhero.
Despite how many characters are set to appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the film is still missing some major heavy hitters from the MCU’s history. Perhaps the biggest heroine not confirmed to be making their return in the upcoming from is Brice Larson’s Captain Marvel. Not only is she one of the franchise’s biggest heroes, but her last entry had some rather interesting implications for the Multiverse Saga as a whole.
It’s also that last entry that many are speculating may be the reason she isn’t making a return in Avengers: Doomsday. A combination of rocky reviews, hate campaigns, and strikes led to The Marvels severely underperforming at the box office. This has left many questioning if Brie Larson has a future in the MCU – especially as the franchise hopes to consolidate following the Multiverse Saga.
Is Captain Marvel In Avengers: Doomsday?
Brie Larson herself has been mostly silent on this issue. She only spoke on the topic during a recent appearing on The View, where she was asked if there was any chance for fans to see Captain Marvel return in the upcoming film. The actress, likely trained in the ways of dodging questions by Marvel, mostly sidestepped the issue, not confirming or denying an appearance in Avengers: Doomsday.
“Thank you for asking, and you know I can’t answer.”
Of course, it’s not likely that Marvel will leave behind one of the MCU’s most prominent female heroes in Avengers: Doomsday, regardless of her box office performance. Brie Larson is all-but guaranteed to make her return as Captain Marvel in the upcoming film. Though, with how many others haven’t confirmed their appearance, it makes sense she wouldn’t either.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
