New details about the cut material from Captain America: Brave New World have surfaced online! Reports indicate that two major characters had their big screen debuts scrapped prior to release.
Fans can say a lot about Captain America: Brave New World, but one thing they can’t deny is that the movie did try to connect itself to the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film has a gigantic (some would say bloated) cast. Captain America, Falcon, Red Hulk, Sabra, Leader, and Sidewinder alone all appeared on the main poster, not to mention side characters like Betty Ross and Isaiah Bradley.
However, it seems that even in spite of its massive cast, not everyone could make it to the final film. According to multiple sources aggregated by ComicBookMovie.com, two major characters were cut from the film leading up to its release. This brings the total amount of scrapped characters to four, with Seth Rollins confirming he was left out of the film in its most recent draft, and a producer revealing Eli Bradley was cut from the project prior to filming.
The Cut Characters Of Captain America 4
The one most fans expected to be cut, and ultimately ended up so, was Rosa Salazar. The actress was reportedly set to play Serpent Society member Diamondback in the film alongside Seth Rollins’ Cobra. Given Rollins himself was cut from the final release of Captain America: Brave New World, many also assumed that Salazar’s role would also be scrapped in favor of Giancarlo Esposito’s Sidewinder taking the lead.
The second scrapped character may shock fans who haven’t been keeping up with screenings for Captain America: Brave New World. It seems that Logan Kim’s role was cut from the final film. While he was never publicly attached to the project, reports indicated that he would be taking on the role of Amadeus Cho in the MCU. He was also reportedly set to play a role in the films post-credits scene, which too was scrapped.
