Fans officially know who Giancarlo Esposito will be playing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The actor’s character in Captain America Brave New World has been unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con.
Ever since it was revealed that Giancarlo Esposito was going to be joining the MCU in Captain America: Brave New World, the internet has been alight with speculation about who he might play. The studio has played things close to the chest. However, during a recent appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed exactly what villain Esposito will be playing.
Giancarlo Esposito took the stage along with the rest of the cast of Captain America: Brave New World at San Diego Comic-Con. It didn’t take long for the question to be broached by the Marvel panel, with Esposito revealing he’ll be playing the leader of the Serpent Society: Sidewinder.
Who Is Sidewinder Of The Serpent Society?
Even hardcore Marvel fans may not recognize the name of the villain Giancarlo Esposito is playing in Captain America: Brave New World. Sidewinder is a lesser-known member of the Serpent Society, a former college professor turned villain who formed the team from the defunct Serpent Squad.
It’s unclear if Captain America: Brave New World will reinvent Sidewinder for the live-action Marvel universe. Set photos of Giancarlo Esposito certainly don’t seem to spell Serpent Society college professor. Then again, it wouldn’t be the first time the MCU made a drastic change in an adaptation.
