‘Captain Marvel’ Star Brie Larson Was Cast Years Before Fans Knew

The actress teased that she was working with Disney in an Instagram post before the casting news.

Captain Marvel star Brie Larson revealed she was cast as Carol Danvers years before fans found out at San Diego Comic-Con in 2016.

Marvel Studios has expertly managed to surprise fans with perfectly casting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes over the years, but in some cases they have actors in place years before anything is announced to fans. Captain Marvel star Brie Larson recently revealed that she first went for a costume fitting years before anyone knew. Most recently, Larson also told fans about roles she auditioned for in other well known franchises like Star Wars and Terminator.

Brie Larson recently appeared on First We Feast to talk about her career, and when asked about a photo she took posing with Jabba the Hutt, the star revealed that was the first day she was scanned for the Captain Marvel costume. She explained that the photo she shared allowed her to show off her excitement about her new role without actually spoiling what was ahead for fans.

“I believe that day, what people don’t know, is that was the day that I went in to get scanned for them to start making the Captain Marvel costume. So that was like, years before anybody even knew. It was cool because I was able to share in my excitement of that without giving away the larger thing. It’s like I got to share in the moment without actually sharing in the moment.”
