‘Captain Marvel’: Fan Theory Links General Ross, Abomination & Super Skrulls

Captain Marvel Hulk Avengers

The Skrulls have officially invaded the Marvel Cinematic Universe and now a new fan theory suggests a link between General Thaddeus Ross, the Abomination and the Super Skrulls.

Ever since fans got word that the Skrulls would finally be making the transition from Marvel comic pages to the MCU in the highly anticipated film Captain Marvel, the speculation about who could be in disguise as these shape-shifting aliens are at an all-time high. Everyone who is knowledgeable about the comics know the Skrulls are shapeshifters and are notoriously known for taking over peoples identities. So all this time fans have been enjoying these films, they could have been watching Skrulls as their favorite characters and not know it. This has led to some crazy ideas on who could be one of these evildoers. The latest brings fans all the way back to The Incredible Hulk involving some of that film’s villains.

[Captain Marvel and Future MCU] Super Skrulls, General Ross and the Abomination from FanTheories

The theory does make a lot of sense for a number of reasons. Marvel thinks very far ahead in terms of their storylines and the fact that Ross has popped up in several follow-up films being a thorn in the side of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes helps to bring credibility to this theory. This would have Ross’s intentions in The Incredible Hulk make more sense than his generic one seen in the film. His support of the Sokovia Accords also puts him on Skrull alert as that whole legislation is about inhibiting those with powers who would be a problem for any invasion. While we have no confirmation that this is true, it is a solid theory that we will have to wait to see if it unfolds in Captain Marvel, Avengers 4, or any other future MCU films.
