The MCU is going to rock the world with Avengers: Doomsday! Channing Tatum teases that the franchise’s next big crossover is going to exceed the hype.
A lot is riding on Avengers: Doomsday. The MCU is in perhaps the most tenuous position it has ever been in, with a series of controversial projects, a flooding of Disney Plus content, and finally some competition from the DC Universe. So even with major stars like Channing Tatum and Robert Downey Jr. coming back into the fold or entering for the first time, success is not guaranteed.
However, it seems as though hopes are high for the entire cast and crew of Avengers: Doomsday. When speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Channing Tatum teased that fans aren’t ready for what’s in store in the MCU’s multiversal Endgame. The actor also teased that there may be a few major cameos still left to be revealed in theaters.
“[Marvel] set a bar for themselves every movie and they beat it every single movie. As I was reading, I was like, ‘No, how are they going to do this?!’ You’re just not ready. It’s gonna make your brains ooze out of your ears, like in the way that I knew when Blade walks on screen in Deadpool & Wolverine… it’s that, times like 50.”
The MCU’s Biggest Risk With Avengers: Doomsday
While Channing Tatum is hyping the surprises as one of the major strengths of Avengers: Doomsday, they could also be a major downfall for the project. The MCU has often been accused of using nostalgia and cameos as a substitute for substance. This means the film has a tightrope to walk when it comes to bringing in shocking moments without going too far into fan-service.
Additionally, due to actors such as Channing Tatum being such new additions to the MCU, the film will have to make sure each hero has both enough time to shine and has chemistry with the rest of the cast. This is a tall order even for smaller films, making the task almost herculean for a project as big as Avengers: Doomsday.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in December 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
