Daredevil: Born Again is going in a bold new direction! Charlie Cox teases that the series is undergoing some major changes heading into season 3.
Even though season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again has barely started, Marvel fans are already obsessing over where the series could go with season 3. With casting underway for the project and actors like Charlie Cox doing their yearly convention circuit, there’s no shortage of hints and teases as to where the show will go next.
Though it seems the ship may be swerving into unfamiliar waters. When speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Charlie Cox revealed that he’s currently making his way through the scripts for season 3. And while he obviously can’t say too much about what he’s about to film for Daredevil: Born Again, he did tease that the next installment in the franchise will be akin to a new comic book.
“I haven’t read the whole thing. But, no, it feels like we’ve shed the skin of the Mayor Fisk era. It feels like it’s a new book, a new dawn, a little bit. It’s still a continuation, obviously, but it’s slightly different. I can’t give anything away, but it’s a new thing, which is fun.”
The New Path For Daredevil: Born Again
While nothing is confirmed, casting reports seem to suggest that season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again will be adapting The Devil In Cell Block D, a storyline which focuses on Matt Murdock trying to survive in prison as a new Daredevil protects the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. While a massive departure from the series so far, fans can certainly see the DNA shared between the two concepts.
It’ll be interesting to see how Daredevil: Born Again evolves beyond season 3. The series can only stretch out The Devil In Cell Block D for one, maybe two seasons. From there, it’s likely that Charlie Cox and the team will harken back to the original Netflix show, focusing more on fighting crime than fighting the system.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is now streaming on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
