One of the most heartbreaking moments from Daredevil: Born Again came in just the first few minutes. This, of course, was the death of Foggy Nelson at the hands of Bullseye. It’s a moment elevated by a truly heart wrenching performance by Charlie Cox. And while much of season 1 followed the hero grappling with his friend’s death, fans were still holding out hope that the character might be resurrected in season 2.
Though it seemed that fans may have been hoping too soon. Recently, it was revealed that Foggy Nelson would, in fact, return in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Such an outright announcement left many fans in a tailspin. This switched theories from the idea that Charlie Cox’s hero may be on a hunt to bring his friend back to life to theories that Foggy Nelson never died to begin with!
Is Foggy Nelson Alive In Daredevil: Born Again?
Charlie Cox himself was actually asked about this theory during his recent run on the convention circuit. While the actor obviously couldn’t give too many spoilers about what happens with Foggy Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, he did set the record straight when it comes to the current status of the character’s heart.
“But Daredevil heard his heart stop. He’s dead. I’m sorry. I’m very sad. I am. I love that theory, but it’s wrong.”
Of course, if Foggy Nelson was secretly alive and in witness protection, Charlie Cox likely wouldn’t outright say it. However, it’s more likely than not that the actor is trying to lead fans away from what is, truly, one of the most outlandish theories to come out of Daredevil: Born Again. Though with season 2 on the horizon, fans likely won’t have to wait long to discover the truth.
