Is Daredevil finally going to join the Avengers? Charlie Cox reveals his desire for the most highly-anticipated crossover in the MCU.
Daredevil has an interesting history when it comes to crossovers with the wider MCU. When Charlie Cox was first pitched as the Man Without Fear, the Netflix shows were considered entirely canon, with references even being made to the battle of New York in the first Avengers film. However, as the years went on and Marvel eyed their own slice of the streaming service pie, the shows eventually were kicked out of canon and only allowed to crossover with themselves.
Yet now with Charlie Cox officially back as Daredevil in the MCU, speculation has ignited once more regarding his character crossing paths with the Avengers. This wasn’t helped by a post from Cox’s personal trainer, which claimed that he was preparing the actor for a role in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. So while nothing is confirmed, fans are all but convinced the crossover is finally coming to fruition on the silver screen.
Charlie Cox Speaks On Daredevil In The Avengers
While fans obviously have their thoughts on the crossover, Charlie Cox also has some of his own. When asked about the potential of Daredevil appearing in an upcoming Avengers project, the star admitted that it’s something that he would love to do. Not just for the cool moments, but rather because of the deep history that the character has with the team.
“Over the course of these years, I’ve become a big fan of this character,” Cox explained in a recent chat with Comicbook.com “One of the things I’m acutely aware of is there are some really cool team-ups, and Daredevil plays a really interesting, pivotal role in some of the Avengers comics. For the sake of the character, I think that would be a wonderful moment…an homage to so much history.”
Given how Charlie Cox has become one of the most billable stars in the MCU (at the very least on the small screen), it would certainly make business sense to have Daredevil appear in the next Avengers film. Though given the script for the project still seemingly isn’t done, it may not be confirmed whether or not he’ll appear until the film hits theaters.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit theaters in May 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
