Charlie Cox opened up about returning as Daredevil and wanting to do more Marvel crossovers in the future.
Now that we live in a post-Spider-Man: No Way Home world, we know that Charlie Cox is set to play Daredevil in future Marvel Studios projects. When will Cox return as Matt Murdock? Only time will tell what Kevin Feige and the brass at Marvel have planned for the Man With No Fear. Seeing as his appearance in the Tom Holland threequel wasn’t confirmed ahead of its release, it’s possible that Daredevil has another surprise cameo up his sleeve.
While we don’t know what’s next for the character, Charlie Cox is hopeful that he’ll get to do more Marvel crossovers as Daredevil in the future. Speaking with Supanova, Cox candidly discussed his return as Matt Murdock and future plans.
“I don’t know what their plans are, but yes, my hope is that I get to do as much as I’m allowed to do, and to be involved. And it’d be really fun. The one thing that being in the MCU allows [things] that we couldn’t really do with the Netflix stuff, is that I can now interact with other MCU characters. So, that would be really cool. Crossovers is the thing I would like to do next.
I don’t know what that looks like, and I don’t know what they’re planning and all that kind of stuff. But there are some really interesting stories there that I’d love for the character to explore. And I hope, I don’t want to sound greedy, but I hope I get to do loads more. I hope I get to be involved way, way more for many years. I hope it never ends. I hope it gets to the point where people are like, ‘You are too old to be playing this part.’”
While future plans don’t seem to be out in the open, it’s clear that Charlie Cox has a bright future with Marvel. With his Daredevil co-star Vincent D’Onofrio also back as Kingpin, the possibilities are endless for the Netflix characters now that they’ve been formally folded into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Charlie Cox last appeared as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Here’s the synopsis for the box office hit:
For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.
