Charlie Cox Doubts ‘Daredevil’ Season 4 Will Ever Happen

Charlie Cox doesn’t think a Daredevil season four is likely to happen after the series was canceled by Netflix.

Daredevil will go on as one of the greatest comic book television shows of all-time. Unfortunately, the series was canceled by Netflix after three seasons with Marvel Studios now developing television content for Disney Plus. Some are hoping that Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil in an upcoming Spider-Man film once the Netflix deal expires, but that’s all been rumors at this point.

Many would also just like to see the Daredevil series continue on Disney Plus, Hulu, or even FX. During ComicBook.com’s Quarantine Watch Party of Daredevil, Charlie Cox seemed to think that a season four was unlikely:

“I don’t feel that way, no. And, I don’t know why I don’t feel that way. But, I haven’t been given any reason to believe that. And, from a cynical point of view, it just feels like maybe I’m trying to protect myself, ’cause I’d love nothing more than to do it again. But when you make a television show, it’s so complicated, and people’s schedules are so difficult, and contracts are so difficult. So, that’s why when, as an actor, when you sign onto a TV show, you sign six years of your life away. Because, if you don’t do that, it becomes too complicated to try and get all these moving pieces.”

Here is the synopsis for Daredevil season three:

Missing for months, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reemerges a broken man, putting into question his future as both vigilante Daredevil and lawyer Matthew Murdock. But when his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is released from prison, Matt must choose between hiding from the world, or embracing his destiny as a hero.

Daredevil season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Joanne Whalley, Jay Ali, Wilson Bethel, Stephen Rider, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
