‘She-Hulk’ Will Feature A Lighter Version Of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil

Here comes... Daredevil!

Charlie Cox Daredevil: Born Again She-Hulk Netflix

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law showrunner Jessica Gao recently teased what fans can expect to see from Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the series.

Marvel Studios’ Multiverse Saga is about to feature a whole lot of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil after the beloved Netflix series was canceled four years ago. Cox returned as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and will suit up as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the upcoming She-Hulk series. Daredevil is also getting a Disney Plus series of his own with Born Again and will appear in the Spider-Man: Freshman Year animated series.

Daredevil was long-rumored to appear in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and the trailer shown at San Diego Comic-Con finally confirmed that, along with the tease of his classic yellow suit. She-Hulk head writer Jessica Gao spoke with The Direct and first shared her reaction to having Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the series:

“Well, first of all, we were shocked that we were able to use him. Like, when we first heard that he was on the table, I mean, we couldn’t believe it. We kept thinking like, ’Okay, at some point, someone’s gonna say ‘Just kidding.‘’ Like, ‘It’s a cruel joke, and you actually can’t have him.’ And it just kept going and kept going.”

Why So Serious?

Netflix’s Daredevil series was very much in line with Frank Miller’s run on the character, but according to the trailers, She-Hulk will have a much more comedic tone. Gao went on to share that Daredevil won’t be as dark and serious when he appears in the Marvel Studios series:

And Charlie is so wonderful. He’s so game to do whatever, and he’s such a wonderful actor, and a wonderful human being. What was so fun about bringing him and Daredevil into our world is that people have already seen a Daredevil who is very dramatic, little bit on the heavy side, very dark, brooding. And it was so fun to be able to do–and we do this with every character cameo from the MCU–is we take them from the environment that you know them from, which is a much more dramatic and action-oriented role, much more on the serious side, and we bring them into our world and they get to play in the tone of She-Hulk. And they got to explore and we get to see a lighter side of that character.”

Here is the synopsis for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law:

“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.”

Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Benedict Wong, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

The series premieres on Disney Plus on August 18th. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
