Charlie Cox has opened up about Daredevil’s scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home and its leak that predated the release of the film.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is a film that is almost as notable for its pre-release leaks as the film itself. One of the early leaks was that Daredevil star Charlie Cox had joined the cast, reprising his role in the Netflix show. This eventually turned out to be true, but not before the actor was grilled over the rumor and an image of him in the film was leaked.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil only appears in one scene. Specifically, it’s to tell Tom Holland’s Peter Parker that, legally, he was safe from any prosecution regarding the death of Mysterio during the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. The scene ends with him catching a brick that was intended for Peter, who is shocked he was able to do this.
Before this scene could play out in theaters, however, images of it leaked online. Sony eventually took them down but not before many people saw it, which specifically showed Charlie Cox talking with everyone about their legal troubles. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, the Daredevil actor opened up about the scene leaking and how he reacted to it:
“I come sometimes, I walk into interviews like this and I’m blissfully unaware that there’s probably a whole conversation about something that I’ve never even… I do know that there was, before the movie came out, before Spiderman came out, there was a screen grab going around of the scene that is in the movie. Someone sent it to me and I was like, oh wow, that’s it. That is that scene.”
