Is Daredevil joining the Avengers? Charlie Cox reveals his excitement to continue playing his iconic role in the MCU.
Charlie Cox is officially set to make his return to the MCU next month in Daredevil: Born Again. The Disney Plus series not only serves as a revival for the series following its cancellation at Netflix, but also the 10 year anniversary of Cox playing Daredevil for the live-action Marvel universe. This is a tenure not many stars can match, rivaled only by some of the franchise’s earliest stars like Sebastian Stan and Chris Hemsworth.
When it was first announced, many thought that Daredevil: Born Again would be a victory lap for Charlie Cox. That the series would just be Marvel bringing him back to shake a few hands, kiss a few babies, and wrap up any storylines from the Netflix series before relegating him to mere cameos in the MCU. However, it seems that Cox is more full of vigor than ever to continue playing the role.
“I feel rejuvenated and lucky and blessed that I’m still being given the opportunity to play this character. You so rarely get to do such a varied palette of tasks as an actor. I get all of this cool stuff as a lawyer, I get emotional scenes with various love interests, and then I get to wear an awesome superhero costume and jump off rooftops.”
“I love all of it. Normally, when you go into your tenth year playing a character, you’re winding down, but we’re going the other way. It would be interesting to know what gives up first, Marvel’s faith in us or our bodies!”
Will Daredevil Join The Avengers?
Of course, when fans hear that Charlie Cox is excited for new opportunities as the character in the MCU, the big name that comes to mind is Spider-Man. But second to that is likely the Avengers, a team fans have been begging for Daredevil to join since Captain America: Civil War. And while Cox can’t tip his hand entirely, he did have some excitement for the idea of meeting Marvel’s box office topping superhero team.
“That would be awesome.”
Signs point to Charlie Cox making some form of appearance in Avengers: Doomsday. While it’s not clear how big of a role Daredevil will play in one of the MCU’s biggest crossovers, it’s likely that Marvel is using the hero as a proxy to represent their former Netflix universe. Which, hopefully, means plenty of fanservice moments!
Daredevil: Born Again will release in March 4, 2025 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
