A family outing to Avengers: Endgame turned sour when kids finished the movie only to see dark lights and a locked theatre after it ended.
Julie Huff, a resident of Norwalk, said she and her family went to see Avengers: Endgame with a gift card she got for Mother’s Day. The family went to the AMC Classic Southridge 12 movie theater. While her boyfriend and youngest child went to see Secret Life of Pets 2, her two older boys went to check out the latest Avengers film. The boys were the only two in the theater.
Since Secret Life of Pets 2 is only 90 minutes, Huff and the rest of her family went to a strip mall while her older sons finished Avengers: Endgame. She checked in on them before leaving. While she left, the theater crew were sweeping and cleaning, but families were still present at the theater.
After Avengers ended, Huff came back to get her sons and the theater was dark. No adults or families were there. Huff talked to the Des Moines Register about her experience:
“Nobody was there, I couldn’t get inside, and it was completely dark.”
Huff nearly called the police, but her children came running out of the dark in the theater. She continued:
“I didn’t know what to do at first, I thought maybe the theater called the police to come get my kids.”
Huff submitted a complaint to AMC’s guest services. Unfortunately, AMC theatre told her there wasn’t much they could do about it. AMC guest services told her:
“Upon further view of your account, I could not access any further recollection of the purchase. Therefore, there is nothing I can do on my end.”
What do you think of this haunting Avengers: Endgame tale? Do you think Julie Huff should at least be reimbursed for her troubles? Let us know your thoughts down in the comments!
