Will Chloe Bennet finally make her grand return to the MCU? The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star speaks on the potential of her character- and the missed potential of Secret Invasion.
Newer fans of the MCU are truly spoiled with the tie-in shows they’re able to watch. Projects like Secret Invasion and Wandavision bring A-List actors down to the small screen, while others like Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk showcase new characters with massive scope. However, there was a time where tv projects for the franchise were a lot simpler. And during that time, Chloe Bennet was the face of it all as Quake on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
And now with almost everyone and their mother bringing brought back into the fold of the MCU with the Multiverse Saga, fans have begun to wonder if it’s possible for Chloe Bennet and her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. co-stars to make a return in a future project. Bennet was actually asked about reprising her role as Quake at DragonCon (via CosmicMarvel), but it seems as though fans shouldn’t keep their hopes too high.
“I’m not playing a bit, this isn’t a joke, I don’t know anything. They haven’t asked me.”
The Missed Potential Of Secret Invasion
For a time, there was genuine optimism that Chloe Bennet could return as Quake. Namely, that the character would appear in Secret Invasion due to the project’s focus on deception and former Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Obviously, this didn’t come to pass, and the series has become one of the most controversial in Marvel’s catalogue. Though even then, Bennet still thinks she should have made a cameo appearance in the show.
“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t considered canon, [but] I agree that I should’ve been in Secret Invasion. It probably would’ve been better.”
While it’s not likely that any of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast will appear in the next two Avengers movies, it’s still possible that Chloe Bennet could return as Quake prior to the end of the Multiverse Saga. One of the biggest possibilities is actually that she appears in a Disney Plus show like Daredevil: Born Again, which seems to be the bedrock for the franchise’s street level heroes.
