One of the biggest missing names from the Avengers: Doomsday roster is Chris Evans. Not only is Captain America one of the most iconic characters in the entire MCU, but the actor has shown his willingness to return to the franchise thanks to his cameo as the Human Torch in Deadpool and Wolverine. To many, the question of his appearance in the film is a “When”, not an “If”.
This isn’t even to mention all of the rumors seemingly confirming Chris Evans’ return as Captain America. It seems his character is set to be a core part of Avengers: Doomsday, with speculation suggesting that he’ll play no less than three variants of Steve Rogers in the upcoming film. Talk about making up for lost time!
Chris Evans Is Getting Shredded
This speculation reached a boiling point following Chris Evans’ recent appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival. While there, the actor was spotted as being completely shredded: almost as much as when he was playing Captain America. This has led many to confirm in their minds that the actor will return in Avengers: Doomsday.

Now, there have been reports of a “Chair Day 2: Electric Boogaloo” for months. It’s possible that this reveal will come in the new year, right before the Super Bowl, to reveal some major names making their return in Avengers: Doomsday before the first teaser releases. And if that’s true, it’s almost certain one of those names will confirm Chris Evans making his return as Captain America.
