Is Chris Hemsworth playing this warlord?

Chris Hemsworth Thor Mad Max Fury Road Prequel Furiosa

The latest batch of images from the set of Mad Max: Fury Road prequel Furiosa may have confirmed the identity of Chris Hemsworth’s mystery character.

Previous Furiosa set photos have shown Chris Hemsworth sporting a red wig, false nose and bushy gray beard for the Mad Max prequel. Fans have had a few different theories regarding who the Thor star might be playing and it looks likely one of the most popular theories will prove true.

The new set photos show Hemsworth atop a hulking six-wheeled monster truck, looking very much like he could be the Mad Max franchise’s newest warlord.

Chris Hemsworth Is Dementus In Furiosa

A recently released synopsis for Furiosa confirms the film will see Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa caught between two warlords – Fury Road‘s Immortan Joe and newcomer Dementus.

The latest set photos, which see Chris Hemsworth’s bearded villain atop an intimidating six-wheeled vehicle, appear to reveal him as Furiosa‘s new warlord. Check out the images below:

Ultimately, of course, Furiosa ends up in the grasp of Immortan Joe, the tyrant she is seen finally escaping in Mad Max: Fury Road. However, it is Dementus who first abducts her from the Green Place of Many Mothers.

It has long been suspected that Chris Hemsworth would be playing Dementus in Furiosa. These new set photos, showing him in a powerful position atop an even more powerful vehicle, appear to confirm the rumors.

Some early fan theories had suggested the Marvel star would be playing Immortan Joe himself, but the vehicle he is seen in here is distinct from any seen being used by Immortan Joe and his forces in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Here is the synopsis for Furiosa:

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Furiosa is currently set to hit theaters on May 24, 2024. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming Mad Max prequel, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
