The new synopsis for the upcoming Max Max prequel film, Furiosa teases a war between two tyrannical figures.

Back in 2015, Mad Max: Fury Road blew everyone’s minds away with how good it was. The film currently holds a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for ten Oscars and ultimately won six. The movie would also go on to make over $374M worldwide making a decent profit for Warner Bros.

For some time now some kind of sequel and/or prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road has been in development. After a lawsuit with Warner Bros was settled, this film took the form of a prequel that would center around the character of Furiosa. Arguably as much of the film’s main character as Max, the character attempted to rescue the wives of Immortan Joe resulting in a film-long car chase. At the movie’s end, Furiosa and Max managed to kill Joe and wipe out the majority of his forces along with those of several similar factions across the wasteland. But now George Miller wants to explore more of the new character’s backstory.

Relatively little is known about the story for the upcoming Mad Mad prequel film. We know that Anya Taylor-Joy will star in the film as Furiosa, Chris Hemsworth is involved in the movie, and that production finally began earlier this month. Know, thanks to an official synopsis, we know that it will involve a war between two tyrannical figures.

According to the new synopsis, Furiosa’s story will involve a war between a younger version of Immortan Joe and a warlord in charge of a horde of bikers known as Dementus. You can see the full synopsis below:

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe.
