Loki season 1 is finally set to get a physical release off Disney Plus. The upcoming Steelbook features a deleted cameo of Chris Hemsworth as Throg, with the footage having now been leaked online.
While Loki season 1 still stands as an exemplar of Marvel Cinematic Universe content on Disney Plus, it’s far from perfect. Many fans point to a lack of Chris Hemsworth as the show’s biggest missed opportunity. While Thor himself was never planned to appear, Hemsworth did originally make a cameo as Throg in the series before ultimately being cut. The scene has surfaced online, giving fans a look at Hemsworth in all his green glory.
While it may seem odd to have Chris Hemsworth voice a frog in the Disney Plus series, it does have his basis in the comics. Throg is a version of Thor that was cursed by Loki to turn into frog, though is sometimes also a separate character. It was never likely Hemsworth had a large cameo on set for the series, so any appearance by the God of Thunder is a welcome one.
Who else is attached to Loki season two?
Tom Hiddleston is spearheading the cast of Loki season two as the titular God of Mischief. The cast also includes Owen Wilson, Jonathan Majors, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Tara Strong, Eugene Cordero, Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Ke Huy Quan and Neil Ellice.
Eric Martin replaced Michael Waldron as the head writer of Loki for its second season. Martin and Waldron also serve as executive producers on the series alongside Tom Hiddleston, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Benson and Moorhead directed the majority of the episodes for the upcoming season.
Loki season two is expected to premiere October 5th on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
