Former Batman actor Christian Bale transforms into Gorr the God Butcher in a new concept design for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: Love and Thunder.
After the release of Thor: Ragnarok brought a brand new take on the God of Thunder, the future seems brighter than ever for Chris Hemsworth’s character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The third film in the Thor series invigorated the franchise’s Shakespearean roots by tossing in a dash of improvisational humor and an ’80s Sci-Fi tone. In its highly-anticipated sequel, fans will see Natalie Portman’s beloved Jane Foster return and take on the Thor mantle. The film will also see former Batman Christian Bale as a villain.
At this point in the film’s production, we have no idea who Christian Bale will be playing in Thor: Love and Thunder. We recently speculated which villain Bale could be playing in the movie, with one strong contender being Gorr the God Butcher. Thanks to an awesome concept created by digital artist Olivia Design, we can see what Bale could potentially look like if he became Gorr the God Butcher for the upcoming Chris Hemsworth film. This edit of Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher is similar to the character’s look in the comics and proves to be quite creepy when compared to the flashy visuals seen in Thor: Ragnarok. Gorr would be an interesting role for Bale, especially because the maniacal God killer is radically different than the characters the actor has previously brought to life. While Bale may be confirmed as the project’s villain, we don’t know who exactly he’ll be playing. Thor: Love and Thunder won’t hit cinemas until 2022, so we have plenty of time to speculate who the villain for the Chris Hemsworth sequel will be.
