The upcoming DC Extended Universe film Shazam! Fury of the Gods receives a new composer in Christophe Beck.
Earlier this week, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema released the first official trailer for Black Adam. The film, which stars Dwayne Johnson in the titular role has been many years in the making, and was made into its own standalone project after scripts introducing both him and Shazam (Zachary Levi) in the same movie were written, but ultimately separated into separate origin films.
Two months after Black Adam makes his big screen debut, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit theaters, picking up where we left off regarding Billy Batson (Asher Angel) and his foster brothers and sisters, who each have become part of the Shazamily. With the film set for release this Christmas, the film’s composer has been officially announced in Christophe Beck.
Director David F. Sandberg revealed that his highly-anticipated sequel originally had Benjamin Wallfisch set to return to score the film, but due to scheduling conflicts, Christophe Beck has taken on the job!
From Ant-Man to Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Christophe Beck has previously scored both of Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man movies as well as both Frozen films. Other scores he has composed include WandaVision, which garnered him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special.
Directed by David F. Sandberg from a script written by Henry Gayden and Chris Morgan, Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Djimon Hounsou, Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Faithe Herman, Meagan Good, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Ross Butler, Jovan Armand, D.J. Cotrona, Marta Millans, and Cooper Andrews.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods opens on December 21, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming DCEU film, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
