Christopher Nolan’s New Movie Gets A Title; First Details Revealed

Warner Bros. has revealed the first details for Christopher Nolan’s next movie, which now has an official title: Tenet.

Christopher Nolan is directing Tenet from his own screenplay and using IMAX and 70mm film for the project. The highly-anticipated film is being described as “an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage.” It’s now filming on location across seven countries.

In Tenet, John David Washington leads a cast that also includes Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy,  Michael Caine and Kenneth Branagh. The movie is being produced by Christopher Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas, with Thomas Hayslip serving as an executive producer.

Hoyte van Hoytema (Interstellar) is working as the director of photography on Tenet while Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther) is composing the score. The rest of the behind-the-scenes team includes production designer Nathan Crowley (The Dark Knight), editor Jennifer Lame (Manchester by the Sea), costume designer Jeffrey Kurland (Dunkirk) and visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson (Mad Max: Fury Road).

Tenet is Christopher Nolan’s first movie since the 2017 WWII action-drama Dunkirk, which won three Academy Awards for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing. The filmmaker is best known to comic book fans for directing the Dark Knight Trilogy starring Christian Bale.

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet opens in theaters on July 17, 2020. Stay tuned for more updates on the project.
