Christopher Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi action film, Tenet has been pushed back from its original release date to the end of July.
When the coronavirus hit the United States, film studios pushed back the release dates of most of their major films and opted to use alternate distribution methods for others. One of the few films that maintained its original release date was Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. Now, however, the release date for the film has officially been pushed back, if only by a couple of weeks.
The film was originally set to be released on July 17th of this year but has now been pushed back to July 31st. The exact reason for this delay was not mentioned. The new release date was made in an announcement from the National Association of Theater Owners which did mention their ongoing efforts to reopen their theaters:
“We are excited that our partners at Warner Bros. will offer a new generation of film fans the opportunity to enjoy Inception the way it was originally intended to be seen — on the big screen. Over these last months we have been keeping Warner Bros. closely informed of our work towards reopening our theatres in accordance with governmental health and safety requirements, and we are looking forward to audiences enjoying Tenet in our theaters all around the world on July 31st.
What do you all make of this new release date? Are you surprised to see that Tenet was delayed, even by a couple of weeks? Should it be delayed even further? Let us know what you think int the comments below!
