Is Circe the new Loki? A new rumor suggests that Creature Commandos is only just the start to Anya Chalotra’s time in the DC Universe.
One of the most perplexing announcements leading up to Creature Commandos was the reveal that Anya Chalotra would be playing Circe in the upcoming show. Circe is perhaps the most well-known Wonder Woman villain not introduced in the last incarnation of the character, leaving many shocked that her DC Universe debut would be in a project entirely unrelated to Themyscira or any character associated with it.
Yet it seems that Creature Commandos is only set to lay the groundwork for the character in the DC Universe. According to a rumor from insider DanielRPK, Anya Chalotra is set to have a very fruitful future as Circe, suggesting they’ll be playing a “significant part” in the upcoming reboot.
Circe’s Future In The DC Universe
The most obvious thing this rumor confirms is that Circe will survive the events of Creature Commandos. This was far from a sure thing, even in spite of casting Anya Chalotra in the role, given James Gunn has teased some major character deaths for the series. Regardless, it is a relief that such a pitch-perfect casting will survive to appear in future projects for the DC Universe.
As for which projects Anya Chalotra could appear in after Creature Commandos, the most obvious one is Paradise Lost, a fantasy series inspired by Game of Thrones that’s set to explore the expanded Wonder Woman mythos. It also wouldn’t be shocking for Circe to throw down with Swamp Thing in his upcoming project given the character’s strong ties to mysticism. Though beyond that, only time will tell what other films or shows she’ll be involved in.
