MGM is sparing no expense for it’s latest James Bond film, as Daniel Craig’s No Time To Die had the most expensive television spot in Super Bowl 2020.
Expensive advertisements on the Super Bowl is not a new thing. Many companies will pay top dollar to have their products advertised during the Super Bowl and are often so creative in of themselves that some will tune in just to see them. Of course, the film industry goes all-in on this practice, securing Super Bowl spots for their own films and often pay huge amounts of money for what will sometimes amount to a small, 30-second spot. This year, however, Daniel Craig’s next James Bond film, No Time to Die, forked over the biggest check to have its trailer play on the Super Bowl.
According to Variety, MGM spent $5.69M on Daniel Craig’s No Time to Die Super Bowl spot. This beat out F9 and Minions: The Rise of Gru which both reportedly paid $5.5M each for their Super Bowl spots. But Daniel Craig’s No Time to Die seems to have taken the title.
What do you all make of this news? Are you surprised that MGM paid so much for a Super Bowl spot? What did you think of the ad for Daniel Craig’s No Time to Die? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
