Daredevil: Born Again is bringing in new blood! A casting rumor suggests that a youthful new face will be making their debut in the upcoming season 3.
With Daredevil: Born Again season 2 just recently dropping its first episode, the cast and crew are already gearing up to start production on season 3. All signs from the rumor mill point to the upcoming season taking place in a prison, potentially meaning that the show will adapt The Devil In Cell-Block D.
Though this speculation got a lot more interesting with the most recent rumor by DanielRPK. According to the insider, Daredevil: Born Again season 3 is looking to cast a character named “Junior” (or, at least, codenamed Junior). And by their description, it seems as though they’re looking for an actor to play a character with Hispanic roots.
“To play a teenager, Latino and/or Black. Works with his father on a fishing boat. Character speaks English and either Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole in scenes – please submit Actors who speak either Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole.”
Who Is “Junior” In Daredevil: Born Again?
The name “Junior” may crack this rumor wide open. If it’s true that season 3 is adapting The Devil In Cell-Block D, it’s almost certain that the character currently being cast is Carlos LaMuerto, aka the Black Tarantula. It’s a character who has had their mantle passed down through generations, meaning he would inherit both his powers and his name from his father.
While it’s likely that Daredevil: Born Again will take some big liberties in adapting Black Tarantula for season 3, the character would broadly serve as both an enemy and ally to Matt Murdock. And given the cultural commentary of these first two seasons, making him younger in the show would likely serve a broader thematic purpose for commentary about mass incarceration.
Daredevil: Born Again is now streaming on Disney Plus, with season 2 set to release in March 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
