Daredevil: Born Again is set to feature the return of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Amid the show’s creative overhaul, the Disney Plus project has brought on a key member of the original Daredevil Netflix series.
Fans have been wary about how Daredevil: Born Again will adapt Matt Murdock in the MCU, especially given how acclaimed the Netflix series was for its dark and gritty tone. Luckily, it seems Charlie Cox’s iconic performance will be in good hands, with a new article by The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Philip Silvera, the fight and stunt coordinator for Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix, will be returning for the Disney Plus revival.
Philip Silvera isn’t just known for the iconic fight scenes in Netflix’s Daredevil. He’s worked on nearly 100 projects, including Deadpool and Batman: Arkham Knight. This is one of the many decisions made by Daredevil: Born Again‘s new creative team that seems to bring the MCU version of the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in line with what fans are dreaming of.
What to expect from the new Daredevil series
Marvel Studios recently scrapped the entire creative team for Daredevil: Born Again due to internal criticism. The previous incarnation of the show focused mainly on the legal aspects of Matt Murdock, with the hero not suiting up until episode 4. The series is expected to go through a complete creative rework to focus more on action and violence, just like the Netflix version.
Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, and Michael Gaston are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, a.k.a Kingpin.
Daredevil: Born Again currently has no release date for Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
