Daredevil: Born Again serves as a continuation to one of the most beloved comic book shows of all time. And while the first season got some leeway due to its troubled development – ending up with a fair Rotten Tomatoes score of 87% with critics and 78% with fans – season 2 is set to feel the full weight of the original series as reviews come out.
Luckily, it seems that the series is off to a good start. With reviews of the first episode finally trickling in, Daredevil: Born Again has landed itself a massively impressive score on Rotten Tomatoes: receiving a 95% positive rating from critics and a slightly higher 96% positive rating from fans, making it one of the best reviewed shows from Marvel’s Disney Plus era.
How Season 2 Stacks Up To The Original Daredevil
The reviews for Daredevil: Born Again season 2 even seem to be better than some parts of the original series. While seasons 1 and 3 of the Netflix show edge it out, having a Rotten Tomatoes score of 99% and 97% respectively with critics, it actually beats out the original’s second season – which only had an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Of course, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 has only just started. There’s plenty of time for the series to completely faceplant and ruin its reputation with fans. However, given quite a few of those critics managed to land full series screeners, the reviews are looking pretty good for the future of Daredevil on Disney Plus.
