‘Daredevil’ Star Deborah Ann Woll Confirms Absence In ‘Born Again’

The end of the Avocados at Law?!

Deborah Ann Woll Karen Page Daredevil Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again is meant to be a spiritual successor to Netflix’s Daredevil series, with many of the shows stars like Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio returning as their characters. However, it seems as though not every character will return, with Deborah Ann Woll confirming once more she won’t appear in the Disney Plus series.

Many fans were disheartened when the report confirming Jon Bernthal’s return as The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again claimed that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson wouldn’t return as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson respectively. While new rumors suggest that Henson may return for a short cameo appearance in the show, Woll confirmed during a recent convention appearance that she hasn’t been asked to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming Disney Plus show:

“Am I allowed to cross the streams? I feel like that would be very dangerous. [T]here’s a few people who can do it. But I don’t know that I’m one of those lucky few,” she explained. “I don’t know about DC. You know, this was so cool, to be a part of this series. And I think, you know, it was such a unique little corner of the MCU that felt really special. I’m really happy with what I’ve had and there’s no, you know, no plans for me so far on either side of the comic book universe, but I’m so grateful for the experience that I had.”

While it’s understandable that Marvel would want to give Charlie Cox a fresh supporting cast for the stories they plan to tell in Daredevil: Born Again, it’s still sad news for many fans of the Netflix series that not all of the show’s core trio will be making the jump to the MCU. It’s still possible that Deborah Ann Woll could return as Karen Page during a future season or a potential The Punisher revival, but as of right now, it’s best fans come to terms with the end of her time in the role.

What to expect from the new Daredevil series

Little is known of Daredevil: Born Again, with plot details being kept under wraps. Jon Bernthal, Sandrine Holt, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James and Michael Gaston are set to appear in the series opposite Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are writing and executive producing for Marvel.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently scheduled to premiere in Spring 2024 on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
