Daredevil season 3 has hit Netflix and it features an awesome cameo from an iconic X-Men character.

SPOILERS FOR DAREDEVIL SEASON 3 BELOW

Daredevil season 3 is filled to the brim with great characters and Easter eggs for fans, all the way until the very end. In the final episode of the new season, Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) is badly hurt and needs a doctor. The doctors helping him mention something called Cogmium Steel, but it sounds like it’s actually a replacement for another iconic metal in the X-Men universe.

In the comics, Bullseye is merged with adamantium to give him heightened abilities. Showrunner Erik Oleson recently revealed that he wanted to ditch the adamantium aspect of the story because of rights issues with 20th Century Fox and because it helped to ground the character in a series that tends not to get too goofy.

That’s not where the X-Men references end though. The actual character that was introduced was none other than Dr. Kenji Oyama, aka Lord Dark Wind. In the comics, this is the doctor behind the adamantium experiments run on both Bullseye and iconic X-Men member, Wolverine. In the scene in which the doctors are working on Bullseye, it turns out that one of the characters is named Oyama, hinting that the deadly assassin may get his abilities after all.
