Dave Bautista is down to play an iconic member of Batman’s rogues gallery but the character the Avengers: Endgame actor wants to bring to life isn’t Bane.

Dave Bautista was best known for his work as a WWE wrestler before his breakout role as Drax the Destroyer in James Gunn’s Guardianas of the Galaxy movies. The 50-year-old actor was last seen as Drax in Avengers: Endgame and is set to reprise the role in the highly-anticipated third Guardians of the Galaxy movie. For now, though, Gunn is working on The Suicide Squad, a film Dave Bautista nearly starred in. As for Dave Bautista himself, the actor is currently filming Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix zombie movie Army of the Dead.

While Dave Bautista is still in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many DC fans have been fan-casting the actor to play Bane in Robert Pattinson’s first cinematic solo outing as Batman. Bane currently isn’t one of the rumored villains for the movie, which is currently titled The Batman. However, Dave Bautista has expressed interest in the past and would be the perfect person to bring a comic book-accurate Bane to the big screen. With the trailer for Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker hitting the internet on Wednesday, someone tweeted at Dave Bautista, writing how much they would rather see Dave Bautista play a Batman villain that isn’t Bane in a solo film. Check out the actor’s response below.

Dave Bautista also shared his thoughts on the latest trailer for Joker, and confessed how “disconnected” the Joaquin Phoenix movie feels by not having Batman involved:

What do you think? Would you still rather see Dave Bautista play Bane? If not, do you have another Batman villain in mind besides Clayface? Sound-off your thoughts in the comments section!

Dave Bautista’s Drax was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo,  Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Dave Bautista, Bane, Batman and the future of the MCU!
