James Gunn has said that he won’t let Dave Bautista perform his signature WWE move in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Before landing the role of Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dave Bautista was best known for being a WWE wrestler. Bautista has returned to WWE here and there, but he mostly spends his time on the movie side these days. However, when the actor was a WWE star, his signature move was the Bautista Bomb.

Given all the action scenes Dave Bautista does as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, a fan first asked James Gunn on Instagram if he will be in his next film and if the Bautista Bomb will be featured:

“He is in my next movie – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3– and no.”

While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following Disney’s decision to remove James Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, Gunn will begin production on the third film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC, which he is currently editing from the safety from his home due to the ongoing crisis. Details on the third chapter of Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki and Sean Gunn.
